Ieronymos Kalavryton: To pass on to the new generations the ideals of the heroes of the 40stranslated

The National Anniversary of the historic "NO" of 1940 was celebrated today, Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in the city of Aigio with due splendor and solemnity. Initially, in the Metropolitan Church of Panagia Faneromenis Aigio, the established official Doxology was performed, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kalavryton and Aegialia, Mr. Ieronymos, flanked by clerics of the Holy Metropolis, while the Most Reverend Metropolitan of former Kalavryton and Aegialia, Mr. Ambrose.

The Doxology was attended by the Member of Parliament of Achaia Ms. Sia Anagnostopoulou as a representative of the Parliament of Hellenes, as representatives of the Region of Western Greece Mr. Panagiotis Sakellaropoulos and Ms. Georgia Datsika, the Mayor of Aegialia Mr. Panagiotis Andriopoulos, representatives of the Local Government, the President of the Municipal Council Ms. Maria Yida, members of of the Local Community of Aigio, representatives of the Security Forces, the educational community and other Authorities and agencies of the region.

After the end of the Doxology, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Ieronymos referred to the deeper meaning of the National Anniversary, underlining that the Epic of 1940 is a peak moment of the newest...
