Litochoro welcomed the Holy Cara of Agios Partheniostranslated

With all ecclesiastical solemnity, the official reception of the Holy Cara of Saint Parthenios, Bishop of Lampsakos, took place on Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2026, in the central square of Litochoro. The sacred treasure was brought from the Holy Dormition Monastery of the Virgin of Evia by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chalkidos, Istiaia and Northern Sporades, Mr. Chrysostomos, accompanied by the Theophilist Auxiliary Bishop of Skopelos, Mr. Nikodimos.

The reception was presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kitrou, Katerinis and Platamonos, Mr. George, supported by clergy of the local Church. Present were the MPs of Pieria Mr. Fontas Baraliakos and Ms. Anna Mani, the Vice-Regional Governor of Pieria Ms. Sofia Mavridou, the Mayor of Dion-Olympus Mr. Evangelos Geroliolios, the President of D.K. Litochoro, Mr. Efstratios Kyriakakis, the Commander of the 24th Armored Brigade of Litochoro, Mr. Dimos Kotoulas, representatives of local Organizations and Associations and a large number of believers who came to welcome the Saint and receive his blessing.

After the official reception, a litanic procession was formed to the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos Litochoros, where the Great Solemnity was celebrated...

Good thing they brought the relics right to Litochoro in the square. It's good that Metropolitan Georgios was there with the local priests, and so many people gathered. I'm interested in how the lithia itself got to St. Nicholas Church.

Yes, I'm also glad that the procession started right from the square and reached St. Nicholas without any problems. I saw that people were walking slowly and quietly, some carrying flowers. Were you there at the lithia itself?
