The ancient Divine Liturgy of Agios Iakovos the Brother of God, in the Metropolitan Church of the Evangelistria of Patrastranslated

On Friday, October 23, 2026, in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Evangelistria of Patras, the ancient Divine Liturgy of Saint James the Brother was performed, under the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Patras Mr. Chrysostomos, with the participation of Priests and Deacons of the Holy Metropolis of Patras and a multitude of devout Christians. In his sermon, His Eminence referred to the Holy Apostle James the Brother of God, and focused on his Catholic Epistle and the Divine Liturgy that he wrote and explained to the faithful the practices of the ancient Divine Liturgy, which bears the name of the Apostolic Father, Hierarch and Martyr.

His Eminence expressed his joy at the participation of a large congregation in the Divine Liturgy and particularly praised the students, the Director and the Professors of the Ecclesiastical Lyceum of Patras, for their participation in the Divine Liturgy and in the Holy Communion.
