Corfu Nektarios near the children of the Campstranslated

On the weekend of July 4 and 5, 2026, the Venerable Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, despite his particularly heavy pastoral schedule, went to the camps of the Holy Metropolis in the area of Kassiopi, in order to be close to the elementary school children, who are hosted during the first camp period. With his fatherly presence, he participated in the events and program of the camp, devoting substantial time to the children and strengthening them spiritually. In the said camping period, the Leader is the Panosiological Preacher of the Holy Metropolis and educator, Archimandrite Dositheos Papamitros, supported by a competent team of experienced educators and young executives.

It is worth noting that the camps of the Holy Metropolis host more than six hundred young men and women every year, aged from Primary to High School, in modern facilities, which were renovated from the ground up thanks to the long-term efforts, sacrifices and tireless interest of His Holiness, in order to offer the children a safe, functional and high-level environment, which contributes...

I'm glad Despot Nektarios found time to go to Cassiopeia despite his busy schedule. The elementary school children certainly enjoyed his presence. Father Dositheos and his team are doing a good job, as always.

I'm glad that Bishop Nectarie stayed with the children from the mayor's office in Kassiopi, he didn't just pass by. Last year my eldest niece came back from the camp and only spoke in the evenings with Dosita's father, just like the others say. Good thing they renovated everything to have a clean and safe place.

It’s good that Bishop Nektariy made it to Kassiopi despite the program. Children at this age really remember such meetings for a long time. Last year, my grandson, too, after camp, talked only about evening conversations with Father Dosifei, especially about how to pray correctly before going to bed.
