Samaritan Sunday-Memorial of Metropolitan Amfilochiostranslated

On the Sunday of the Samaritan (May 10, 2026) our Most Reverend Metropolitan officiated at the parish church of Archangel Michael Lardos and presbyter of the three-month Memorial of the blessed Metropolitan pr. Ganos and Choras of Mr. Amfilochios. Collaborating among others were Archimandrite Fr Nikodimos Anagnostopoulos (Holy Archdiocese of Thyatira and Great Britain), Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Fr George Ladoukakis (Archdiocese of Crete) and Protopresbyter Theotimos (Archdiocese of Athens), and groups of pilgrims from holy Archdiocese of Athens and the holy Metropolis of Thyatira and Great Britain. The memorial speech was delivered by His Excellency. After the Divine Liturgy, a reception was held in the adjacent hall and in the courtyard of the Holy Church.

How nice that pilgrims from Athens and the archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain joined together for the trisage of Monsignor Amfilochios. The metropolitan's sermon must have been very heartfelt. I hope one day we can go to Lardos to pray in that church.

Yes, it is nice for pilgrims to come from Athens and Britain. The church in Lardos is always full of people on days like these. I wish I could see a picture of the Dixion after Mass. It was nice there.

It was nice to see pilgrims from Athens and the Thyateira diocese come together for Metropolitan Amphilochios’s trisagion. The church in Lardos always feels especially full on these Sundays. I wonder if anyone has a photo of the reception afterward.

It was good to see those pilgrims fill the church too — the ones from Athens sat right behind us. The reception had some excellent paximadi and olives from the yard, but I forgot to take any pictures myself. Did you manage to get one of the tables outside?
