Does this school accept boys from our diocese, say from Banja Luka or Trebinje? It is interesting that in addition to the Greek program, they also learn Arabic, church music and icon painting - it really combines everything needed for life in the Patriarchate.

Good announcement. That they cover both accommodation and food is important for children from far away. From our parish in Athens we had a young man who went years ago and learned iconography – he says that life inside the Patriarchate changed him.

It is interesting that the program follows the Greek ministry, as well as Arabic and icon painting. Our boys in Odessa also like to sing in the choir, but to do everything together and still live in the Patriarchate itself is a rare opportunity. Have any of our acquaintances tried to get a job there?

Yes, Bohdan, it is the combination of the Greek program with Arabic, icon painting and life right in the Patriarchate that makes this school special. We also have boys in Poltava who sing in the church choir, but such complete immersion almost never happens. Have you heard how much the trip there costs for our people?

Does this school also accept boys from Poland, for example from our diocese in Gdańsk? It's interesting to combine the Greek program with Arabic, Orthodox music and iconography - my daughter is just starting to become interested in writing icons, so maybe it's worth asking someday.

It’s interesting that in addition to the Greek and Arabic programs, they also teach icon painting and church singing, and the guys live right under the Patriarchate. A priest we know in Yekaterinburg told me how his nephew went there to study from Serbia, so they probably take them from other dioceses as well. And the conditions are complete - travel, food, and housing, this is good for boys from afar.

Yes, Natalya, icon painting and church singing are really in the center there, not just an elective. In St. Petersburg, one guy from the parish also went to Jerusalem on such a program, he says that living right under the Patriarchate is a completely different feeling, as if you are inside all this ancient life. Do you know what other dioceses they take from, besides Serbia?

Yes, iconography and singing are really in the center there, it’s great. A deacon I know in Krasnodar told me that guys from Greek parishes and from Cyprus also often travel. Did your boyfriend from St. Petersburg then stay in the church ministry or return home?
