Diocese of Bukomba: We are 60 years late – A wrong Mission was madetranslated

We are 60 years late – Mission gone wrong! This was persistently emphasized by the members of the multi-member Financial Committee, who met at the Bishopric of Bukomba on 8/10 at the invitation of Theof. Bishop Chrysostomos. In Tanzania all religious groups are self-sustaining. Their members offer what is necessary for the construction of the churches, the salaries of the priests, charity and missions. They don't expect anyone from outside to help them.
When the Orthodox mission began in 1962, because it was in its first steps, help came from Greece, Cyprus, the diaspora of America, Australia. The Greek filotimos offered and offers for the building of churches, salaries of priests, for schools, hospitals, drilling.
This is done to this day and the Orthodox of Tanzania are the only ones who do not contribute to their Church. No one told them. No one told them. Everyone is waiting for Greece. Even if a window breaks, or if the Church needs painting or if the sheet metal on the roof needs changing, they expect the Episcopate, they expect Greece to fix it for them. But the situation reached an impasse when Greece fell into an economic crisis.
