July 1, 2026 · 1 min read

Our Church celebrated the Synagogue of the Holy Twelve Apostles on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. On the evening of the eve of the feast, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Monemvasia and Sparta, Mr. Efstathios, officiated at the solemn Vespers with baked goods in Gounari Sparta, which was also attended by several clergy from the wider area. In his meaningful speech, the Reverend Pastor pointed out that this important holiday honors the collective memory and contribution of Christ's closest disciples, who - for the most part - witnessed for the spread of Christianity to all corners of the then known world. At the same time, His Holiness underlined, the meeting of the Apostles symbolizes the unity of the Church and its mission to consolidate the message of the Gospel in all corners of the Earth. In conclusion, he wished the Holy Apostles to be the simple guides of every Christian on the difficult path of repentance and spiritual elevation.
