Nikodimos of Epidaurus in Agia Kyriaki Domokostranslated

In the Solemn Church of Agia Kyriaki Domokos in the capital of the once brilliant Episcopate of Thaumakos, at the seat of the Municipality of Domokos, the Most Reverend Bishop of Epidaurus, Mr. Nikodimos, General Director of the EKYO of the Church of Greece and assistant Bishop of the Beatitudes officiated on the two days of July 6 & 7, 2026 Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Hieronymou B´. Mr. Nikodimos performed all the Holy Masses on both days accepting the kind invitation of the local Pastor, His Eminence Metropolitan Fthiotidos Mr. Simeon, while the Lords of the place and a multitude of believers flooded the Church of Agia in Domokos on both days.

Mr. Nikodimos in his sermon at Vespers on the occasion of the verse from the Apolytikion of the Saint: "Angels were amazed at the bliss of your virginity and the splendor of your crowns", he said:

“So what was it that caused the admiration of the Angels? Angels live unceasingly in the glory of God. They see the wonders of the divine economy. They praise their Creator unceasingly. So how are they surprised in front of a new daughter of the Church?

The answer lies in the mystery of holiness itself. The angels…

It is interesting that Bishop Nicodemus chose this particular verse from the troparion of Saint Kyriakios about “Evskhimosini parthenias” and the surprise of the angels. In Kazan, it also often happens at such altar ceremonies, when the bishop arrives, the church is filled and the local authorities come. And the sermon, apparently, turned out to be deep, even though the text breaks off.
