Academic Lecture: “The Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Primacy of the Word in a Turbulent World”translated

In the framework of the work of the Ecumenical Patriarchate's Representation Office in Athens and in collaboration with a scientific committee of professors from the Theological School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a series of academic lectures was already held from May at the Byzantine and Christian Museum of Athens with a general theme “The Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Orthodox Church and in the Contemporary World”. The series of lectures is under the high auspices of the Most Reverend Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Hieronymos, and aims to shed light on the position and role of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Orthodox Church and in the world, both generally and particularly in our times.
The relationship of the Ecumenical Patriarchate with the Roman See of Constantinople and the Orthodox Diaspora around the world, the responsibility and coordination of theological dialogues with other Churches and Christian Confessions, the preparation and implementation of the Holy and Great Council in 2016 in Crete, the Church's guidance today, the initiatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for the protection of the natural environment, the issue of acceptance and promotion of human rights by the Orthodox Church, the relationship Constantinople and Moscow...
