The right hand of Saint Spyridon in Russia: 25,000 believers at the first station of the pilgrimagetranslated

On August 20 and 21, 2026, the reception and pilgrimage of the right hand of Saint Spyridon the Wonderworker took place with particular splendor and reverence in Tseboxari, the capital of the Republic of Chuvashia. The holy reliquary was brought to Russia from Corfu, following the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, and Chuvashia was the first of a total of thirteen stations on its pilgrimage.

The events were attended by the Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, head of the delegation from Corfu, who was received by the Metropolitan of Tseboxari and Tsouvasia, Mr. Savvatios, and representatives of the local authorities and the Church.

The holy reliquary was transferred to the Cathedral of the Entrances, where a Holy Prayer was held and the following day a solemn Divine Liturgy, in which the two Metropolitans and the Bishops of Tsouvasia concelebrated. Services were held in Greek, Church Slavonic and the Chuvash language.
