Three emblematic monuments of Epirus were restored by the YPPO and awarded by the President of the Republictranslated

Three emblematic monuments of Epirus – the Kaloutsiana Mosque, in the urban fabric of the city of Ioannina, the Ottoman Bath in the Castle of Ioannina and the Castle of Caiaphas, in Souli – were attributed by the President of the Republic, Konstantinos Tasoula, to the local community, after their restoration and promotion by the Ministry of Culture. The interventions ensured the protection and long-term presence of three monuments of particular historical and architectural value, which are reintegrated into public life as places of culture, false witnesses of the great historical timelessness and memory, contributing to the strengthening of visitation and the sustainable development of the area.
The completion of these projects is part of the wider strategic planning of the Ministry of Culture for the protection and sustainable management of the cultural stock of Epirus. As part of the strategy of the YPPO for interventions in the monuments of all historical periods, the Ministry strengthens the preservation of historical continuity and utilizes culture as a driver of regional development and social cohesion.
