The course of the Lifelong Learning Program KEDIVIM AUTH: "Religion, Mental Health and Socialization" was completed with great success, with Professor Mr. Konstantinos Kotsiopoulos as the scientific leader and Mr. Achilleas Papatolios as the teacher. It’s interesting what exactly was discussed in the classes on the topic “Religion, mental health and socialization.” It is a pity that there are no details in the note; it would be useful to know what conclusions Kotsiopoulos and Papatolios made.

It’s interesting what exactly was covered in these courses. It is a pity that the note does not say a word about the specific conclusions of Kotsiopoulos and Papatolios - for example, how Orthodoxy helps with anxiety or in communicating with people. Polina, maybe you found the program or materials somewhere?

It looks like a good program, but as the Russian friends say, the specifics are missing. I would like to know if they talked about how prayer and church life help with anxiety disorder or socialization after the pandemic. Does anyone know if there are materials uploaded somewhere?

Interesting program, but like the Russians in the comments, I would have liked to see some concrete examples. For example, how does prayer or going to church help anxiety or reintegration after a pandemic? Maybe publish some material from Kotsiopoulos and Papatolios though.

Yes, I also read the comments from the Russians and thought the program sounded good, but the simple examples from everyday life were really lacking. For example, morning prayer personally helped me to stop waking up with a knot in my stomach after the period of isolation, and going to church regularly gave me a weekly rhythm that got me out of the house and reconnected with people. Can someone from the program send us a concrete summary of what Kotsiopoulos and Papatolios said though?

Good question Elias. I, who attended some lectures, remember that they talked generally about prayer as a means of calmness, but not with specific examples for post-quarantine anxiety disorder. Do you know where we can find the presentations?

Yes, Larisa, I also noticed that the simple examples from everyday life were missing. Evening prayer with my children helped me a lot after the pandemic to stop feeling the same anxiety, and when sewing in the evening I feel my mind calm down. Did you manage to finish the whole program or did you just stay for the comments?

Yes, Teodora, evening prayer with the children really brings concrete peace, especially after a hectic day at school. I finished the whole program, but it felt the same - too little of ordinary life, like your sewing or walking in the garden. Have you tried any simple techniques from the course that worked for you?

Yes, Ana, I too have noticed that evening prayer with the grandchildren (when they come to visit) brings the same peace after a busy day. However, I found the course a bit theoretical; sewing on the machine or weeding in the garden helped me more than the relaxation techniques learned there. Did you try to apply something specific from what Mr. Papatolios said?

Elena Lungu
Yes, Simona, the evening prayer with the grandchildren really brings a peace that I also feel when they come to me. I tried that breathing exercise that Mr. Papatolios mentioned before bed, but you're right, nothing beats weeding the tomatoes in the garden or baking a muffin. Did you sew anything in particular with the grandchildren?
