The camps of the Holy Metropolis of Argolis on Mount Farmaka have beguntranslated

July 3, 2026 · 1 min read

The campers of the 1st period, students of the Primary and 1st High School, arrived at the camp of the Holy Metropolis of Argolis on July 2, 2026. The consecration was performed by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Argolis, Mr. Nektarios, who gave the camp the name "Moments of Holiness". The children presented their groups and sang with joy and enthusiasm, creating a particularly warm and festive atmosphere.

At the end, His Eminence expressed his warm thanks to the Chief, Mrs. Christina Matthaiou-Theodorou, the Deputy Chief, Mrs. Dimitra Krustalli, the camp staff, as well as the kitchen volunteers for their valuable and selfless offer.

A total of four sessions are planned for this year's camp season: two four-day sessions for students and two for veteran campers.

Farmakas camps are located at an altitude of 1150 m on Mount Farmakas in a wonderful fir forest. In 2015, they were granted by the Municipality of Argos Mycenae to the Holy Metropolis of Argolis and the renovation works began. With much effort and countless difficulties, the facilities were completely renovated according to the legal specifications...

We were glad that campsites were open again in the mountains - I remembered how in Munich a year ago our guys also set up a place in the forest at 1100 meters after repairs. As in the article about Pharmaca: “in full compliance with legal norms,” this is important.

Holy Moments—that’s what Metropolitan Nektary called the camp. I hope the children here will be like last year at Holy Trinity: with morning prayers and forest walks without haste.

The name “Moments of Holiness” really fits a camp up there at 1150 m in the fir forest. Nice that Metropolitan Nektarios thanked Christina Matthaiou-Theodorou and the kitchen volunteers by name; those ladies always carry the whole thing. Hope the older campers’ four-day sessions go just as smoothly.

It's good that the camp was named "Stiγmés Agiótitos" - it sounds specific and you immediately know what it's about. It's nice that Metropolitan Nectarius thanked Christina Matthaiou-Theodorou and Dimitra Krustalli by name, because such people really hold everything together. I wonder what these four days were like for the students in this forest at 1150 m.

I’m glad that in Munich you also did everything according to the rules after the renovation. We at Farmak really spent a lot of effort on these norms and documents; without them, we would not have been allowed. Have your guys set up tents there or have some houses already appeared?

I’m glad that in Munich everything was done according to the rules. Here at Farmak it was precisely because of these norms and documents that they delayed it for three years; without them they would not have given the go-ahead. Do your guys live in tents or have they already erected normal houses?

I'm glad for you that everything is finally done according to the rules. At Farmak we were delayed for three years just because of these papers; without them they would not have allowed it. Are your guys in tents or have you already set up normal houses?
