The "Apostoli" free elderly care seminars have been successfully completedtranslated

The two free elderly care seminars implemented by "APOSTOLI" were completed with particular success, offering 45 participants valuable knowledge, modern skills and essential supplies for their professional career in the field of care. The training program was designed and implemented in collaboration with SAEK AKMI, with the aim of comprehensive training of caregivers of the elderly, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical application. The trainees acquired specialized knowledge in matters of daily care, safety, accident prevention, effective communication with the elderly, as well as basic principles of professional ethics. At the same time, they strengthened their ability to provide quality, safe and dignified care, essentially contributing to improving the quality of life of elderly people.

I know Ivan from SAEK AKME, who trained at the seminars. I heard they taught how to help the old better - I'm an electrician, but I want to know if they also did exercises with real examples, not just theory.

Interestingly, the program included practical exercises. We have a grandmother in Samara after a stroke, and when a nurse simply theoretically knows how to turn over correctly, it is of little use - it is real examples with beds and pillows that are important. Methodi, did Ivan mention how many hours of practice there were?

I heard they also did hands-on exercises with mannequins and real fall scenarios or communicating with adults, not just theory. As an electrician you might be interested in the home safety part - did they have anything on electrical risks for the elderly?

Olga, I completely agree - theory without practice is useless. Here in Minsk, after a similar course, one woman’s grandmother also had a stroke, so she said that for the first two weeks all she did was practice turning and placing bolsters on a real bed.
