The experiences of girls from the United Nations at Archbishop Elpidophoros of Americatranslated

On October 8, 2026, participants in the "Girl Delegate" Program of the Holy Archdiocese of America (GOA) to the United Nations for the period 2026–2027 visited the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese and met with the Most Reverend Archbishop of America Mr. Elpidophoros. At the Holy Archdiocese's St. Paul's Chapel, His Eminence welcomed the delegates — all high school students — who shared their experiences of the program as well as their expectations for the coming year.
The meeting was coordinated by the Director of the program, Ms. Niki Devaris-Morgoulis.
Each year, the autumn leg of the program focuses on the International Day of the Girl (IDG), which is celebrated on 11 October.
The United Nations established this day in 2011 to highlight the importance of girls' rights and the challenges they face globally.
The Holy Archdiocese's program not only invites high school girls from across the Archdiocese to participate, but also provides them with the means to directly take part in human rights actions at the United Nations.
