Neas Ionias Gabriel: The people of Ukraine "a unique example of resilience and unity"translated

His Eminence Metropolitan of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia Mr. Gabriel, member of the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches (WCC) and member of the WCC Committee of Churches for International Affairs, participated in a WCC-led mission that made a solidarity visit to Ukraine on July 14-17. Metropolitan Gabriel took time to reflect on the deep meaning of the time he spent with Ukrainian churches, communities and government officials and answered questions from the PSE.

What do you get from the PSE solidarity visit?

Metropolitan Gabriel: We lived a very deep and spiritual experience. The PSE's solidarity visit and mission to the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, as well as to the Ukrainian people, highlighted the true brotherhood of our churches, not in theory but in practice. I am grateful to God for this experience and to the general secretary of the PSE for this opportunity to be strengthened in Christ's mission of love, compassion and understanding.

Thanks for this information. I'm specifically interested in what Metropolitan Gabriel said about the second question, "Sto προσκυνή του προσκυνήματος", because the text ends there. How did this aliya manifest itself in practice?

It is interesting how exactly this αλληλεγγύη was expressed in practice during the pilgrimage. The text breaks right at Metropolitan Gabriel's second question, and Anna asks the same. Anyone have the full text?
