Saint Michael Paknanas: The only chapel in Athens dedicated to the New Martyr of our Church (VIDEO)translated

Agios Michael Paknanas was born in Athens and lived in the district of Vlassaros, below the Acropolis. He refused to convert to Mohammedanism and was sentenced to death by beheading by the Turks, at the Columns of Olympian Zeus. The only chapel in the entire capital city dedicated to the Saint Michael, the neomartyr, is located in the Ascension of the Lord N. Kosmos, where according to tradition the Saint's gardens were located, as the vicar of the Archimandrite Church, Father Nikodimos Kavarnos, explained to Journalist Dimitris Strumbakos. Thank you for reminding us about St. Michael Paknanas. It is interesting that his gardens were exactly where the only chapel in Athens is now at the Church of the Ascension in Neo Cosmo. I will pray to him today, July 9th.

Good video, I liked how Fr Nikodimos explained about the Saint's gardens right where the chapel is now in the New World. I did not know that it is the only one in Athens dedicated to Michael Paknana. I will remember him today.

Interesting that the saint's gardens were located exactly where the only St. Michael Paknanas Chapel in Athens now stands, at the Reception Church in Neos Kosmos. Priest Nikodimos explained this well in the video. I will also take him into prayer today.

I agree, Fr Nikodimos said it very clearly about the gardens. Last year I passed by after the service and I was impressed by how quiet the chapel is between the houses. I will also say a trope this afternoon.
