The Eortios Vespers of Agia Marinis in the homonymous village of Korthiou Androutranslated

The Venerable Metropolitan of Syros, Mr. Dorotheos II, celebrated Vespers yesterday, July 16, 2026, in the imposing and dilapidated Holy Church of Agia Marini, with the emblematic Bell Tower, of the village of the same name, in the area of Korthio. The solemn Vespers was held with the participation of the Priest of the Church, Presb. Iakovos Stephanos and Vicars of the surrounding Parishes and the Deacon, and with the presence of a large number of faithful Andrians and passing pilgrims, including many children.

In his speech, the Reverend Mr. Dorotheos II, after speaking about the choice of Saint Marina, to be indifferent to the honors of the world and her personal success and to remain faithful to the undeniable truth of Christ, overcoming the fear of martyrdom and death by beheading, strengthened by the Lord Jesus Christ, Who even today in the Church strengthens every person, who asks for it with faith, to face the various "witnesses" of everyday life.

He thanked the Vicar of the Church and the visiting Fathers, the Cantors and the ministers, the parents who led their children, of all ages, to the Mass and all the faithful who participated in large numbers...
