Serron Theologian: "The saints exhort us to love Christ strongly"translated

The venerable sacred memory of Ag. glorious, great martyr Marinus the miracle worker and sign bearer, the Serrai Church also celebrates with splendor. On Thursday, July 16, 2026, the eve of the feast of the great name, in the celebratory Holy Church of St. Marinis and Antonio Serron, at 7:30 in the afternoon, the great, festive Vespers was held, officiated by Rev. Metropolitan of Serres and Mr. Theologian Nigritis. In the aforementioned historical Church of the city of Serres, the indestructible right hand of the "sterry athlete" Ag. great martyr Marinis. The fragrant, graceful and intact relic of the right hand of the glorious martyr Marinis was donated in the year 1787 to the old Byzantine Church of Ag. Marinis of Serres (12th century), by the Metropolitan of Bodena (Edessa) Sir Timotheo and since then it has been for the city and the Metropolis of Serres, a most precious spiritual treasure, a permanent and tangible point of sanctification, an unpaid clinic for souls and bodies, an empty container, capacious and inclusive of divine grace.

The hand of St. Marina has been in that old 12th-century church in Serres since 1787. That's something. The Metropolitan's words about loving Christ strongly in hard times hit home. We sure could use that reminder right now.

Yes, the unbroken hand of Saint Marina has been there since 1787, in a 12th century church. I remembered what Metropolitan Theologos said, that the saints exhort us to love Christ very much, especially in difficult times. It's a simple thing, but true.
