Metropolitan of Naples: "Faith has the power to abolish the dynasty of death"translated

In the Holy Church of the Taxiarches, in the Cemetery of Evosmos, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, Mr. Varnavas, officiated on Sunday, November 8, 2026, on the occasion of the solemn celebration of the Synod of the Holy Archangels. In his sermon, the Bishop of Western Thessaloniki focused on the Gospel passage of the day, analyzing the two great miracles of Christ: the healing of the bleeding woman and the resurrection of the centurion's daughter.

"Death is the only certain fact in man's life and is the fruit of his fall," emphasized His Holiness. He added, however, that "Christ, with His entry into history, defeats death and grants immortality".

Referring to the attitude of the centurion, the Metropolitan underlined the value of humility and absolute faith, recalling the words of the Lord: "Fear not, only believe". "Faith is nothing but perfect trust in the love of God. And this faith has the power to abolish the dynasty of death," he concluded.
