I see that the text says “Spilka”, but this is a Ukrainian word. The Russian text should say "Union" or "Union", right? Maybe a typo?

Vera, yes, you definitely noticed. “Spilka” is the Ukrainian version; in the Russian title, “Union of Orthodox Journalists” would be more logical. Apparently, they simply copied it as is from a Ukrainian source, this often happens.

Vera, you are right, “Spilka” immediately hurts the eye in the Russian headline. Here in Voronezh, when we translate news from Ukrainian sites, we also often have to correct such little things so as not to stumble. Do you often notice such borrowings?

Yes, Valentina, “Spilka” in the Russian title really hurts the ear, as if they forgot to translate. Here in Yaroslavl, too, sometimes such little things pop up in church news, especially when they take them from Ukrainian resources. Do you often encounter this when translating in Voronezh?

Yes, Svetlana, here in Samara, too, such “Ukrainian” headlines often pop up, especially if material from Spilka or the UOC is directly copied. Once, even in the parish chat, there was a whole argument over “punishment” instead of “head”. In Yaroslavl, do you edit such texts yourself or just mark them?

Yes, Svetlana, here in Munich, too, sometimes such “Ukrainianisms” pop up in the news, especially when the material is taken from Ukrainian sites. Once in the parish chat they even argued whether the “punishment” for the “chapter” should be edited or left as it is. Do you correct them yourself in Yaroslavl or do you just notice them in passing?
К
Константин Комаров
Yes, Dmitry, this also happens here in Samara, especially when the material is taken directly from Spilka. Once in the chat we spent half an hour figuring out that “punishment” is not a mistake, but the old Church Slavonic “head”. Do you often edit such texts in Yaroslavl or do you just skip them?
