I had heard that in Emporio they do very well the blessing of the grapes after the liturgy. I liked that Fr. Nikolaos Sigalas was there together with the two priests Karamolegko and the deacon Nektarios. Does anyone know if they always carry the icon in that procession around the village?

Yes, in Emporio they always bless the grapes immediately after Mass. This is a nice and tangible tradition. I was happy when they mentioned the name of Father Nikolaos Sigalas, along with the two priests Karamolego and Deacon Nektarios. As for the icon, I think they carry it in the Lithuanian every year after prayer, and this is not the first time.

Yes, Myrna, the tradition of blessing the grapes in Emporio immediately after Mass really gives the taste of the whole summer. I tried blessed grapes last year and they were very sweet. My question: Have you tried eating the bread they distribute with fruit after Littania?

Yes, the tradition of blessing the grapes after Mass in Emporio is very nice, especially knowing how sweet the grapes get there at that time. I am glad that Father Nikolaos Sigalas also served with the two Karamolegkos and Deacon Nektarios. I wonder if they go around the whole old quarter with the icon every year or just the center?
