The feast of St. Paisios in Evangelistria, Nafpliotranslated

For the third year, the memory of Agios Paisios of Agioreitos is commemorated with great pomp in the Holy Chapel of the same name located at the foot of the historic castle of Palamidi in Nafplion below the parish church of Evangelistria. On the 12th of July, the feast day of Saint Paisios of Agioreitos, throughout Greece the memory of the people-loving Saint is commemorated from one end to the other.

On the eve of the feast, Saturday July 11, 2026, a Great Solemn Vespers is sung

At the end of the celebratory evening, the vicar of the church, Protopresbyter Fr. Eleftherios Michos, thanked the Priests who honored the feast with their presence, as well as all the faithful who came to the Saint's chapel, which houses the unique full-length statue of Saint Paisios in Greece.

On the day of the feast, the liturgy of Orthros will be chanted and then the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated.

On the day of the feast, July 12 at 9:00 in the evening, a Holy Vigil will be held.

Nice to read that the unique life-size image of Saint Paisios is there. The Grand Vespers on July 11th with so many priests and believers sounds worthy - hopefully the weather will hold up for the vigil on the 12th at 9 p.m.

Thanks for sharing this text. It is good to hear that in that chapel under Palamidium stands the only complete statue of Saint Paisius in Greece. Were any of our people from Montenegro there at the vigil?
