Former Damianos of Sinai to Archbishop Symeon: We must resist until the end for the protection of the Sinai Monasterytranslated

After a long period of silence about what is happening in the historical Holy Monastery of Agia Ekaterini Mount Sinai after his resignation Rev. The former Archbishop of Sinai, Mr. Damianos, in his letter to the new Archbishop, Mr. Simeon, requests to be informed about the developments regarding the agreement being prepared with the Egyptian state, warning that with what has been taking place lately and according to what has been leaked, the ownership of the property of the Monastery is being lost.  In a letter published by Newsbomb.gr, Mr. Damianos addresses the Archbishop Mr. Simeon and the group of monks who are in the monastery and asks for unity and dialogue between the monks and with the Egyptian state to protect the rights of the Monastery. It also calls for clear ownership recognition, legal personality, Egyptian citizenship for the Archbishop and long-term residence permits for the monks.

It’s a pity that after Vladika left, Damian was silent for so long. Now he writes about the loss of property and asks for Egyptian citizenship for the archbishop and long-term visas for the monks. I wonder what kind of agreement they are preparing with Egypt and why there is such a rush all of a sudden.
