The feast of Saint Euphemia and Saint Paisios in the Metropolis of Didymoteichotranslated

With feelings of satisfaction and spiritual joy, the Church welcomes the wonderful spiritual meeting of two leading figures of our faith whose memory is honored successively, that of the Great Martyr Saint Euphemia and Saint Paisios the Saint, on the 11th and 12th of July. This supernatural miraculous meeting in the humble cell of the Saint on Mount Athos, is a false testimony of the living presence of the Holy Spirit in the Church. Saint Euphemia, bypassing the laws of decay and time, appeared to the contemporary Saint Paisios, offering him a heavenly fairy tale, confirming the common path of saints and believers, which is founded on total love for Christ.

"This spiritual bond of the saints becomes our guide, connecting the martyrdom of the saints of the first centuries of persecution with our time, where monastic practice should be the starting point and example for the ethos of our modern civilization. The bloody martyrdom of Saint Euphemia is inextricably linked with the proper ascetic attitude and morals that Christians of the modern era must have.
