In the early morning hours of Monday, October 26, 2026, His Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Excellency, arrived in the capital of Angola, Luanda. Theodore II, making an official visit to the country, in his capacity as Primate of the Second Throne of the Patriarchate of the Orthodox Church and spiritual leader of Orthodoxy on the African continent. His Beatitude, Successor of the Apostle and Evangelist Mark, was welcomed at the airport of Luanda, with special honors, by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Angola, the head of the diplomatic mission of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Luanda, Mr. Dina Ehab, the Honorary Consul of Greece in Angola, Mr. Georgios Dussopoulos, as well as Director of External Relations of the Honorary Consulate of Greece, Mr. Juliano Ambrósio.
