Award of Honorary Distinctions from the Musicians Forum of the Archdiocese of Americatranslated

The Forum of Musicians of the Holy Archdiocese of America, during the Clergy Assembly of 2026, awarded the Medal of St. Roman the Melody to two persons who have distinguished themselves for their important work in church music. This high honor was conferred by the Most Reverend Archbishop of America, Mr. Elpidophoros. Such a medal is traditionally awarded at every biennial Clergy Lay Assembly and honors musicians who have distinguished themselves for their many years of service to the Holy Archdiocese of America and their important work in the musical ministry. It is with great pleasure that we announce, once again, the awarding of this year's medal to Fr. Michael Palad and Nicholas (Nick) Chimitris.
Fr Michael Palad has composed, arranged and published music for church choirs. He has also published the score of the well-known Greek song "Snows in the bell tower". In collaboration with the Narthex Press publications, it publishes weekly sheet music of the hymns of Sunday Orthros, together with the corresponding recordings.
