The Orthodox shift begins at camp “Firefly”translated

On July 18, a prayer service was held in the Spaso-Voznesensky Cathedral of Ulyanovsk before the children left for the Firefly camp for the Orthodox shift.
Before the start of the prayer service, the confessor of the shift, Priest Maxim Pichugin, addressed the children and their parents:
— Let’s pray that the Lord will promote a good undertaking, strengthen everyone, that the shift will be beneficial in all respects, that the children will develop physically and spiritually, that it will take place in love, mutual understanding, and help to each other.
At the end of the prayer service, the children were distributed on buses and, accompanied by teachers and parents, went to the camp. It is located in a picturesque place in the Nikolaevsky district of the Ulyanovsk region.
The shift program combines spiritual education with an intense summer vacation and various activities.
The shift was organized by the department of religious education and catechesis of the Simbirsk diocese with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Education of the Ulyanovsk region. It will last from July 18 to August 7.
This year, about 200 people will rest in the camp - pupils of Sunday schools of churches of the Simbirsk diocese and children from large families.
