A stand will be installed on Khlebnaya Square in memory of the lost churches of Samaratranslated

On September 13, 2026, City Day, a grand opening of an information stand dedicated to the three lost churches will take place on Samara’s Bread Square. The project received the blessing of Metropolitan Theodosius of Samara and Novokuibyshevsk. The information stand will provide information about the Transfiguration Church, the Kazan Cathedral and the Smolensk Church, which were located on Khlebnaya Square until the mid-20th century. The project is designed to preserve the memory of the shrines and historical appearance of one of the oldest places in Samara. Address: Samara, Khlebnaya Square, 1, building of the parish house of the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God. Residents and guests of the city are invited to participate. The collection of donations for the construction of the stand continues.
