Chrysostomos of Eleftheroupolis: "True honor and love for the Virgin Mary is expressed in obedience to Her Son"translated

With ecclesiastical order and splendor, on Saturday August 15, 2026, the great Feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated in all the Parishes and Holy Monasteries of our Holy Metropolis.

Impressive and moving was this year, as every year, the attendance of hundreds of Christian pilgrims to the Holy Pilgrimage of the Panagia Faneromeni Nea Peramos, where the Holy Clergy, led by our Most Reverend Pastor, and the faithful people, in the presence of the authorities of the place, honored our Virgin Mother with deep reverence, filial love and respect.

On Friday, August 14, in the evening, the Solemn High Priestly Vespers was held on a specially designed platform in the forecourt of the Holy Pilgrimage, presided over by our Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Chrysostomos, supported by priests of the Holy Metropolis.

Before the end of Vespers, the procession of the Holy Icon of the Virgin took place, which was then placed in a special canopy, where the established Praises of the Virgin Mary were chanted under our Reverend Pastor.
