Young artists from Lipetsk and Crimea create the exhibition “Churches at Dawn”translated

Prikhody.ru 10/06/2026. The Crimean stage of the interregional project “Churches at Dawn” takes place on the peninsula from October 4 to October 14. All these days, ten young artists from the Lipetsk region and Crimea, who became the winners of a creative competition, have been working in the open air to capture the iconic churches and monasteries of the metropolis.
The artists began their creative journey in the Lipetsk region, where the participants painted historical Orthodox shrines of this region. As reported in the public page of the Simferopol diocese on the social network VKontakte, the program in Crimea opened with a visit to New Chersonesos and the ceremonial closing of the exhibition at the Tochka Opory youth center in Simferopol. The exhibition consisted of works created during the Lipetsk stage of the project.
The first plein air on Crimean soil took place in Bakhchisarai near the Church of Theodore Icon of the Mother of God. The artists met the dawn among ancient monuments and mountain landscapes, creating the first sketches of a new stage.
The key event was the meeting of the participants in New Chersonesus. Getting acquainted with the history of the place associated with the Baptism of the enlightener of Rus' - Prince Vladimir, the young artists discussed the role of art with Hieromonk Rafail (Popov). Priest...
