The steady voices during the Vigil really stayed with me too — our parish choir in Ottawa works hard on that same even tone, but the way it fills Isaac’s is something else. I usually go to a smaller church for Nativity because the crowds at the cathedral get a bit much with two teenagers in tow. Have you tried the Vigil at the cathedral on a weekday?

Nos adolescents se plaignent surtout de la foule quand cela signifie qu'ils ne peuvent pas allumer une bougie sans donner un coup de coude à quelqu'un, mais ils se lamentent une fois que le chant commence. La veillée en semaine semble être un régal ; Je n'y parviens que les rares après-midi où le jardin n'a pas besoin de moi. Votre paroisse d'Ottawa a-t-elle un écho similaire même dans un espace plus petit ?
