The Ministry of Health has identified serious problems in the Balti hospital: equipment in the corridor and a church inside

The Ministry of Health of Moldova checked the work of the Balti Clinical Hospital for 2025–2026 and identified serious shortcomings in the organization of treatment, procurement and fire safety. On the 5 inspected floors of the children's building, inspectors found only 6 fire extinguishers, and sterilization equipment worth 2.6 million lei was never installed in specially renovated premises. Problems were also found in the work of medical personnel, compliance with sanitary rules and control over the expenditure of funds. Now the hospital management must develop a plan to eliminate the identified deficiencies.

They spent 3.3 million lei on repairs, but they could not install the equipment.
