Metropolitan Daniel of Accra meets Egyptian Ambassador to Ghana

Metropolitan Daniel of Accra met with Mr. Wael Fathy, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Ghana, on Friday, 17 July 2026, at the Embassy of Egypt in Accra.

During the cordial meeting, he conveyed to the Ambassador greetings and best wishes of Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa. He also expressed the profound gratitude of the Patriarchate of Alexandria to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt for his enduring support and protection of the Apostolic Throne of Alexandria and its historic mission throughout the African continent.

Particular emphasis was placed on the strong historical bonds of friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Greece, as well as on the important role both countries play in promoting interreligious dialogue, culture, and the peaceful coexistence of peoples.

He briefed the Ambassador on the long-standing presence and the missionary, pastoral, educational, and charitable ministry of the Holy Orthodox Archdiocese of Accra of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria in Ghana.
