Authorities and representatives of religious cults in Maramureș join their efforts to protect wooden churches, informs the County Prefect's Institution.
On this occasion, on Wednesday, a meeting was held at the "Gheorghe Pop de Băsești" Emergency Situations Inspectorate in Baia Mare to identify the necessary measures to prevent fires at places of worship and historical wooden monuments.
Among the participants were His Holiness Father Iustin, the Bishop of Maramureș and Sătmar and diocesan advisers from the heritage and protocol sectors. At the same time, Father Florin Fodoruț, vicar general of the Greek-Catholic Diocese of Maramureș, was also present.
Shared responsibility According to the prefect of Maramureș County, Rudolf Stauder, the meeting had in mind the protection of wooden churches, of exceptional value.
