On October 16, 2026, with the blessing of the Chairman of the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism of the Russian Orthodox Church (SOMM), Metropolitan Theognost of Kashira, a visit to the Samara Diocese of the Commission of the Board of SOMM began in order to familiarize himself with the internal monastic life, the educational level of monastics, as well as the social activities of the holy monasteries. The commission included the dean of the monasteries of the Smolensk diocese, the abbot of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Avraamiev Monastery, Abbess Nikolai (Zolotov), ​​and the abbess of the St. George Convent of the Pyatigorsk Diocese, Abbess Varvara (Shurygina).
