The Villaregia Missionary Community has established a new presence in Ghinnir, in Ethiopia’s East Bale, seeking to reach communities where the Catholic Church has a limited presence.

Ethiopiaʼs East Bale region is in the Oromia region of the country and encompasses the eastern areas of Bale Mountains National Park.

Nice that they are focusing on Ghinnir and the issues with female circumcision and early marriage. Teresa Zullo has been working there for seven years, which is no small feat. I wonder how they manage to establish relationships in such a predominantly Muslim area.

That's interesting they're focusing on Ghinnir now. Seven years is a long time for Teresa Zullo to already be there, and tackling female genital mutilation and early marriage sounds like practical help those communities really need. I wonder how the local Muslim families are responding to the missionaries building those relationships.
