Historical documentary film "Belgorod: from Emperor to Saint." Episode 1translated

With the blessing of Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, the author of the film, Olga Chernaya, conducted research and found materials that no one had ever published. She is the first television journalist in the Belgorod region to raise this topic. To do this, she had to work with several archives in the country. And the story was illustrated by footage taken in the Valuysky district - in New Jerusalem (before the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), as well as in the Moscow region - in the oldest monastery of Rus', the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius. An interview with the famous historian, professor, biographer of Nicholas II Peter Multatuli was also recorded in Moscow. So, what connects our region with the last Russian emperor? Why couldn’t the Belgorod region find its heavenly patron for a long time? And how was the son of the Ukrainian people glorified in Russia? In the film “Belgorod: From Emperor to Saint” our land is like you have never known or seen it before. The likes of which you have never felt before. A land where faith never fails. Land blessed by the Saints. December 23 is His Remembrance Day. This story began at the beginning of the 18th century. And it hasn't ended yet.
