The executive director of Foma magazine told the Public Chamber what modern media is missingtranslated

Modern media, incl. those who create spiritual and valuable content today often lack content, Alexey Sokolov, executive director of the Foma magazine, said this at the Public Chamber of Russia.
– What is the main problem now? Any picture can be created. We have no problem producing a certain form, no one does. The problem is that there is not enough content, there is a lack of some kind of narrative story, said Alexey Sokolov on September 24, 2026 at the round table “Open about faith: challenges and opportunities for creating valuable media content.”
According to the executive director of Foma magazine, the presence of such a problem is confirmed today by the media themselves.
“Some incredible special effects, incredible formats are created, and no one watches it, because it’s all then dragged into the digital environment, where people are used to watching bloggers in vertical videos who don’t do anything like that,” noted Alexey Sokolov.
In order to attract an audience and retain it, Alexey Sokolov continued, professional media, incl. those creating spiritual content must understand their narrow circle of people - “to whom you are directly addressing.”
