The Irkutsk diocese says goodbye to Archpriest Vyacheslav Pushkarevtranslated

On July 20, 2026, the earthly life of the faithful shepherd of the Church of Christ - the rector of the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Khomutovo, Irkutsk region, dean of the Second Irkutsk district, Archpriest Vyacheslav Valerievich Pushkarev - was tragically cut short. Father Vyacheslav died in a traffic accident on the Baikal highway near the village of Listvyanka. He was 59 years old. Father Vyacheslav was born in 1967 in the village. Osinovka (now a district of Bratsk), served in the ranks of the USSR Armed Forces, graduated from the naval school and the history department of Irkutsk State University, worked as a teacher at school. However, the Lord called His chosen one from secular activity to spiritual activity. Having become a church member in the early 1990s in the city of Ust-Ilimsk under the leadership of Archpriest Alexander Bely-Kruglyakov, Vyacheslav Pushkarev received Holy Baptism, and over time was introduced to the ruling bishop. On August 9, 1995, on the day of the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon, he was ordained as a deacon, and on December 3 of the same year - as a priest.
