On the 34th Anniversary of the Reactivation of the Metropolitan See of Basarabia: It Is Time to Draw Closer Togethertranslated

"It is time to draw closer together, for common prayer and the love of work to prepare the way for communion and unity within the walls of the ancient Mother Church," said on Monday Venerable Father Antonie at the celebration marking 34 years since the reactivation of the Metropolitan See of Basarabia.
Bishop Antonie officiated a Te Deum service in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Paraclitos "St. John the Theologian" in Chisinau.
The anniversary moment brought to mind the decision of the Eparhial Assembly in Chisinau on September 14, 1992, where clergy and monastics present decided on the reactivation of the historic Metropolitan See of Basarabia.
Bishop Antonie recalled the period of Soviet times and the efforts of those who preserved faith and connection with the Romanian Orthodox Church. The Most Reverend said that the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church had declared the reactivation of the Metropolitan See of Basarabia "an act of holy truth and justice."
"We honor the members of the Eparhial Assembly in 1992 and all those who have served this cause, sharing the same apostolic faith, the same Romanian heritage, and the same call to sanctity."
