International Scientific Conference in France marks 10 Years Since Holy and Great Council

Chantilly, France, is set to become a focal point for the Orthodox world from October 5 to 8, 2026, as an international Scientific Conference marks the tenth anniversary of the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church, held in Crete in 2016.
The Conference, titled “The Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church (2016–2026): Assessment and Prospects,” brings together hierarchs, representatives of Orthodox Churches and distinguished academics from several countries.
According to the official program, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will formally open the Conference on Monday afternoon.
The program includes presentations by hierarchs and representatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Patriarchates of Alexandria, Antioch, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania, the Churches of Cyprus and Greece, as well as the Autonomous Orthodox Churches of Finland and Estonia.
Distinguished university professors will also participate in the discussions, offering academic perspectives on the significance and legacy of the Council.
