A representative of the Novosibirsk diocese took part in a meeting dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the ShVSM – News – Novosibirsk Metropolistranslated

A gala event was held in the chamber hall of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic to mark the 80th anniversary of the Regional Center for Sports Training of National Teams and Sports Reserves (School of Higher Sports Excellence). The event was attended by the head of the Sports Department of the Novosibirsk diocese, Master of Sports of Russia, Priest Boris Levitan. Among the honored guests of the festive meeting were four-time Olympic winners biathlete Alexander Tikhonov and saber fencer Stanislav Pozdnyakov, two-time Olympic winners athlete Viktor Markin, biathletes Svetlana Ishmuratova and Anna Bogaliy, Olympic winners biathlete Sergei Tarasov, basketball player Irina Minkh and gymnast Evgeniy Podgorny, as well as Olympic medalists boxer Mikhail Aloyan, fencer Lyubov Shutova and biathletes Svetlana Pecherskaya and Olga Vilukhina. Over the 80-year history of the Center, its students have won 30 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze Olympic awards, and trained hundreds of champions and prize-winners of regional, national and international competitions.
