Orthodox calendar, July 31 Saint and Righteous Evdochim Saint and Righteous Evdochim lived during the time of the iconoclast emperor Theophilus (829 – 842). He was born into a faithful family, his parents Vasile and Evdochia gave him a choice education, being raised in the fear of God.

At maturity he became a commander in the army, in Cappadocia, fulfilling his duty with responsibility for 33 years. He lived his whole life in purity and good deeds.

Knowing in advance his nearness of death, before passing to the eternal he gave the order to be buried without pomp, which happened. After his death, for the pure life of the saint, numerous miracles took place at his tomb.
