Priest Vitaly Zorin explained how the fishing miracle happened in the Gospeltranslated

On October 11, Orthodox churches in the Penza region held festive services dedicated to the 19th Sunday of Pentecost. On this day, believers also remembered the Monks Cyril and Mary of Radonezh, the parents of Sergius of Radonezh. The rector of the Church of John the Baptist in Zarechny, Priest Vitaly Zorin, in a conversation with the publication “Capital 58”, explained the meaning of the Gospel story about the miraculous catch of fish and the calling of the Apostle Peter.

The priest drew attention to the action of the future apostle, who showed trust in Christ despite his own experience. According to the Gospel, after preaching from the boat, the Savior invited the fishermen to go out into the depths and cast their nets again. Peter replied that they tried unsuccessfully to catch fish all night, although night time was considered the most suitable for fishing. Despite this, he fulfilled Christ's request.

The subsequent catch was so large that two boats began to fill with fish. However, the main event, according to Zorin, was not the miracle itself, but the subsequent calling of Peter.
