The miracle-working icon of the Mother of God "Gherontissa" from Mount Athos will be taken to worship at the Pantocrator Monastery in Drăgănești-Vlașca, Teleorman county, according to a post on the monastic establishment's Facebook page.

The icon will be brought by a delegation from the Pantocrator Monastery in the Holy Mountain, where it is kept.

The faithful will be able to pray and worship for six days, between November 27 and December 2, "asking for the protection and intercession of the Mother of God."

The representatives of the Pantocrator Monastery in Teleorman highlighted the symbolic connection between the two monastic settlements, which bear the same name: "A miracle-working icon. Two monasteries bearing the same name. A single blessing that unites Holy Mount Athos with Romania."

More information regarding the liturgical program of the events will be communicated in the next period.
