Iasi: Spiru Haret will be honored by the Romanian Academy 175 years after his birthtranslated

The branch of the Romanian Academy in Iași is organizing the "Spiru Haret 175. School - Reformer of Romanian Society" Conference on October 9 and 10.
The event is devoted to the 175th anniversary of the birth of Spiru Haret, mathematician, Minister of Public Instruction and Religions in three mandates.
Spiru Haret is considered the most representative minister of education in Romania through his conception of school as a fundamental element in the modernization of Romanian society.
The conference will be doubled by the launch of the volume "Spiru Haret 175. School - Reformator of Romanian Society", made with the contribution of authors from all over the country.
The event is organized within the Days of the Iași Academy.
Spiru Haret He was an important Romanian mathematician, teacher and politician, born in 1851, in Iasi.
He held the position of Minister of Public Instruction and contributed to the modernization of the education system in Romania. He supported the development of schools, the training of teachers and the access of as many children as possible to education.
