The chapel of the Bârsana Monastery was rededicated on Tuesday, on the occasion of the "Council of the 12 Apostles", the patron saint of the monastic settlement in Maramureș county. The service took place following the restoration of the painting and the reorganization of the Holy Altar.
On this occasion, the place of worship received a second patron, dedicated to Saint Hierarch Joseph the Confessor from Maramureș, who served in the old monastery from Bârsana.
The Holy Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Andrei of Cluj, Maramureș and Sălaj, together with Bishops Iustin of Maramureș and Sătmar, Benedict of Sălaj, Ieronim of Dacia Felix, Siluan of Hungary, Timotei of Spain and Portugal, Macarie of Northern Europe; Vicar Bishop Samuel Bistrițeanul of the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj and Vicar Bishop Timotei Sătmăreanul of the Diocese of Maramureş and Sătmar.
