On November 6, 2026, in the conference hall of the Don Metropolis building, the Head of the Don Metropolis, Metropolitan of Rostov and Novocherkassk Mercury, chaired an extended meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Rostov-on-Don Diocese.

The vicar of the Rostov diocese, Bishop Artemy of Taganrog, members of the Diocesan Council, deans, heads of diocesan departments, commissions and specialized units took part in its work.

Opening the meeting, Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk welcomed the participants and outlined the main issues on the agenda. The heads of diocesan departments, commissions and specialized units presented reports on the main areas of activity.

During the meeting, decisions of the Bishops' Council of the Don Metropolis of September 5, 2026 were considered, including issues related to changes and additions to the names of saints listed in petitions and prayers during services, in accordance with journal No. 37 of the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church of May 14, 2026.
